The state of Oregon has a variety of RV parks. Many of them are right in the heart of the activity, whether it's across the street from the beach, nestled in the woods near waterfalls, or just a short walk from a popular destination. Life on the road should be simple, and it is in Oregon.

Here are some of the favorite oregon state parks for rv camping;

1. Oregon Coast - You'll need to plan ahead if you want to visit the Oregon Coast in an RV. For example, Ecola State Park offers breathtaking vistas of Haystack Rock and the raw majesty of the coast, but you'll have to camp in nearby Cannon Beach or Seaside. When traveling along the Oregon Coast you choose from Fort Stevens State Park, Nehalem Bay State Park and Cape Blanco State Park.

2. Columbia River Gorge - You can hike the parks in quest of waterfalls inside the splendor of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Multnomah Falls is another neighboring waterfall. The Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway, which stretches from Troutdale to The Dalles, is known for its jaw-dropping scenery. Multnomah Falls is one of eight waterfalls connected by a historic highway and hiking paths in a "waterfall alley." Multnomah Falls can be viewed from the historic route, which has a few bus/RV approved parking spaces, or hiked to from a neighboring state park. Ainsworth State Park, Viento State Park and Memaloose State Park are the nearby rv campgrounds

3. Central Oregon - Central Oregon is the place to go if you want to be surrounded by ponderosa pines in the high desert. Here are two of our favorite RV-friendly state parks in Oregon: Prineville Reservoir State Park and LaPine State Park

Oregon City, formerly Bloomingdale and Hengy, is a ghost town in Butte County, California, halfway between Oroville and Cherokee. It was founded in the autumn of 1848 by a group of Oregonians who arrived in California via the Applegate and Lassen trails. Their captain, Peter H. Burnett, became the first civil governor of California a little over a year later. Oregon City thrived as a gold mining and supply center for a time, but subsequently faded into obscurity. It is at a height of 1,184 feet (361 meters) above sea level.
